Review: Dying to Meet You
Liz Parker doesn’t like surprises, but winning the lottery isn’t something she would complain about. Before she has time to think about how to spend her new fortune, she’s hit with an even bigger shock than unexpected wealth. She has three months to live unless she finds a one-in-a-million bone marrow donor.
While her medical team scrambles to locate her miracle, Liz throws together a bucket list, charters a private jet, and takes off to see the world. The journey of a lifetime holds even more surprises, including the hunky pilot she’s falling for at the most inconvenient time.
Will Liz die before she can realize her happily-ever-after, or will the universe come through for her one more time? Find out in this humorous tale of true love and adventure!
First, my apologies to the amazing Rich Amooi for both the sparse nature of this post and its tardiness. I’ve been looking forward to the book since it’s announcement, read it ages ago...and then forgot to post the review. For shame.
Dying to Meet You tells the semi-tragic tale of a woman experiencing the best of times and the worst of times at the same time. She embarks on a bucket list journey as he says tick off using the unexpected fortune she recently amassed. Along for the ride? A dashing widowed pilot and his plucky best friend.
Massive thanks raise for Rich Amooi for creating a believable scenario of star-crossed lovers. I’ve never wished more for two people NOT to fall in love. I argued with each main character and pointed out other people who might make them happy. But I knew they were good for each other - they just had this giant, almost-impossible roadblock. Further cheers to the author for also providing believable nondisclosure. No one starts a flirtatious conversation with “I’m dying” or “my wife’s death damaged me” so their easy but I’ll-dated flirtation made perfect sense.
So how does it all unravel? Well...that’s for you to discover. I love Rich Amooi novels and this was no exception. I hope you’ll pick it up and sink into a favorite chair for an emotional journey through love and death.
